And I will bury my soul in a scrapbook, with the photographs there and the moths.

Eternal Treasure

So when I think "Vintage/Shabby Chick", these things come to mind....distressing, inking, metal touches, lace...And that is what I created last night.

This layout has alot of sentimental value to it. Not for me but for my best friend, she is the baby in the sink being bathed by her mother. She is 29 years old now but lost her mother to cancer when she was only 2. I wanted to create this for her so that the memory of her mother would still live on.

The papers featured in this layout are from K & Company "Ancestry.com". Lots of inking and distressing on this layout to achieve the vintage, weathered look.

I used my Fiskars Precision Fingertip Knife to distress my edges, then inked them. For the corners of my background paper, I used my NEW Fiskars fave 3-in-1 Dot to Dot Corner Squeeze Punch.

I did some fussy cutting with the blue flowers, I cut them out of another K & Company paper. I used my Fiskars Micro Tip Scissors No. 5 for the fussy cutting, talk about very SHARP little handy scissors that get into those very hard to reach corners when wanting to fussy cut intricate floral designs. I have always thought that book pages are a great vintage touch to any project. For this layout, I matted my page with brown cardstock and using my Fiskars Scallop Decorative Edge scissor.

I'm ruthless for using corner punches as border punches. =) Here I used it to add my final touch to the layout. I used the Fiskars "Circles" Corner punch for this.

Now all I need to do is frame this and give it to her as a "Just Because..." gift.
I hope you find inspiration within this layout.
Hope you are all having a great weekend.

Til next time...♥ Karen
