And I will bury my soul in a scrapbook, with the photographs there and the moths.

Trust

Back in February of this year my son turned 2. I wanted to go to one of the lakes in town and take a series of photos. Well I kinda started lagging behind talking to my daughter, I looked up and saw this priceless opportunity to snap this shot. It was my husband and son walking holding hands, it just melted my heart! I used the title "Trust", because I want Jayden to never doubt the fact that he can always trust dad, he will never fail to be there for him.

I used all G45 papers for this layout.
And lots of Tim Holtz embellies, who doesn't love those 2 combined?! That TH ruler ribbon is awesome! It's thick and has an awesome vintage look to it. All I did was ink it to blend it into the page alittle better.

Thank you so much for taking a lookie=)
Hope you all have a great day!
Off to clean for me. =/

Scrap That!'s May Kit Reveal!

Here is Scrap That!'s! very first kit reveal! This is May's "Blue Velvet" kit and it is full of browns and beautiful blues. The featured papers in it are from the Glitz "Vintage Love" Collection. The kit came with gorgeous Prima flowers and leaves. I had so much fun making these layouts and here I am sharing them with you!

The above layout is of my daughter on Easter. My husband was telling her something silly and made her smile her beautiful smile and to top it off the wind was blowing in her hair making for such a great photo op! Loved working with these papers. They already looked distress which made them so pretty. They were perfect for my series of sepia photos.

Here are the pretty Calcutta flowers and leaves, I inked the edges of the leaves brown to compliment the rest of the layout. Also beautiful Prima bling that never fails!

The kit came with such a pretty clear stamp from Glitz, I stamped it on cardstock and cut it out, also using a personal stamp to put a cute little saying in the center.

I altered the Maya Road envelope with the Walnut Ink Antiquing Solution and finished it off with a cute little bling center. I also sprayed the lace with some of the solution to make it darker. That stuff is neat for altering and antiquing!

Second layout is of my wonderful husband Brandon. He had built a "fort" out of motorcycle tires in the backyard for our son to play in, and I had the camera in hand(surprise surprise) and I rounded the corner and snapped a quick shot and I fell in love with the photo, he looks so handsome. Lots of distressing and inking on this one.

I masked the gears on some of the papers and simply cut them out and adhered them to my page to give alittle more dimension. I added a few Weathered Wood distress stickles that came in the kit to the cut out gears, perfect touch! And I couldn't help myself but to bring out one of my TH key holes, because this man is my love and he truly holds the key to my heart. {I know how cheesy! But it's true!!}

Third layout is, as it is says in the title of my studly little man. This photo was also from this last Easter. He was reaching to ring the doorbell at Grandma's house, he gets so excited when we go there.

Here is the gorgeous Zazi flower from the kit! Yes! Yes! I used flowers on a boy layout! I realize what I did! But the fact that they are blue saved me! Right?!

Lastly, I had all these little scrap pieces from the papers in the kit and I thought I can do something with these! I got a 8x8 fabric canvas square from my LSS and cut my scraps into squares the same size, then 2 strips going across and down the middle and glued them to the canvas with my hot glue gun(my best buddy by the way). I got a wonderful quote online and used it in the center. And of course, the inevitable, I jam packed the corner with Prima goodies. Note: All the flowers and embellies are from my personal stash. I just wanted to show you what you could with your scraps! Because we all have those! ;)

Scrap That! will launch this kit May 1st. So be sure to get on their subscription list! Here's a link to the FAQs about the kit/shipping/costs etc.
Hope you enjoyed these layouts!
Have a GREAT week!

My Minds Eye Blog Challenge 10

So this is my very first time submitting a layout for a manufacturer challenge. I just bought lots of papers from the new releases from My Minds Eye and came across the challenge and thought...ooh I'll use the papers for that! (I impulsively buy heaps and loads of paper) so this gave me the chance to use them right away!

The photo I recently took last weekend. She picked up one of those cotton-y thingys you blow on and make a wish, and I snapped the shot right before she blew it. It was the best NOT PLANNED photo and I caught it just in time. Jeez aren't I so good???=) The theme given to us over at My Minds Eye Blog was a song called "Dream Big"..it went so perfectly with the photo so I used it as my title along with a verse from the song.

Paper are from their Quite Contrary "Little Miss Muffet" Collection.

As always gotta show off the gorgeous Prima flowers especially those Teal Tea Roses!

Here is the verse I took from the song, only thing I added was the part that says "Promise me one thing.." I loved the verses so much that there are others I want to use in future layouts. Here are the lyrics to the song "Dream Big".
I also tried something new with the ribbon and loved how it turned out.
Thank you so much for visiting and thanks for all the sweet comments as well.
Hope you all are having a great day! It snowed today for us..ugh!
Hugs

Busy busy but not too busy for ME time!

I have been up to my neck busy these last 2 weeks at my LSS, redoing the layout of the store... but I still managed to set aside time to make some layouts! =)

For the first one, it's my daughter Nicole in February at the lake in town. She loves to explore areas and she came across this rusted wheel thingy lol and sat on it and made for a perfect photo. The papers are Kaisercraft's "Duchess" Collection. Such pretty papers.

I used one of Zva's new release corner pearl bling in taupe, added the perfect touch to the photo. All their bling is beautiful!!!!!

I took out my Glimmer mist, I went on a GM buying rampage yet rarely take them out..figures! right? =) I glimmer misted the title to make it pop alittle more.

And lastly, of course gotta show off those gorgeous gorgeous Prima flowers, especially the sheer Caravan Collection.

Now on to the 2nd layout. My studly little son, Jayden. He spotted someone doing something and just focused on them for the longest time. The sun was shining on him and I loved the way it showed in the photo. He's such a little man.

I used the K&Co. "Blue Awning" Collection.

Used one of the big corner Zva pearl bling, those big corner pieces are BEAUTIFUL! They're so unique looking.

The flower I made myself out of fabric. I wanted to recreate one I had bought and it turned out pretty well! I just cut a cardstock circle the size I wanted my flower to be then cut out an inch wide, 16 inch long strip of fabric and started twisting it and going in a circle around my cardstock and topped it off with coordinating pearls. So easy to do.

Hope you all have a GREAT weekend. Mine will be pretty relaxing. Might do alittle more scrappin..=) Thanks for visiting!
